And I gotta say it’s well worth the 6 hour sinuous return drive from Melbourne! The Twelve Apostles are limestone stacks formed by erosion, and a little fun fact for you: there are only 8 left now! The sight is breathtaking at any time of day, but for the perfect light it is best to go there when the sun is setting. I almost didn’t go at sunset hour because up until the last minute the sky was grey. Had to cut my dinner short and speed there, almost running over a wallaby on the road, to be able to enjoy the show. It’s also national parks made of forest where you can find countless waterfalls! 🌲🪵💦 The Great Ocean Road cross through the Otway National Park right in the middle between Melbourne and Port Campbell. Driving on this part of the road, you have no choice but to go slow. Sometimes it’s for your own safety, other times it’s to enjoy the views. I was expecting to only follow the coast line with such a name, but as it turns out the Great Ocean Road also takes you a bit inland and through the Otway National Park. Such diverse sceneries I loved it!! Roadtripping truly is my favorite way to travel. You can see so much in such a small amount of time and all of it on your own schedule. Insta only allows 10 slides but for a proper recap of those 3 days I would need at least 30.
